Data for good

We simplify sustainability by aggregating localised and credible datasets backed by our partners, all in one place.

The Good Impact Framework

The amount of sustainability data available to businesses and consumers is rapidly increasing. While that is generally a good thing, it's also making it harder to find what you are looking for. And once you have waded through the data and found something of interest it can be hard to determine how credible and complete it is.

How can you be sure you can trust the data you've come across?

We believe that the world of sustainability data is already too complex and confusing, and that's holding us back collectively. To help, Cogo has created The Good Impact Framework (GIF), an easy guide which businesses and consumers can use to understand their impact and enable them to take positive action.

The GIF helps define which sources of data are credible and organises them into four sustainability pillars: Climate, Waste, Land & Water, and Community. For each data source, we identify the credible certification and responsible affiliate organisations involved, so you don’t have to. The GIF is curated by Cogo and our partners who share our goal of driving more positive impact in the world.

Carbon footprinting data

Built by our team of world-leading carbon footprint specialists and data scientists, Cogo calculates your personalised carbon footprint in real-time, linked directly to your spending transactions and lifestyle choices.

Cogo’s carbon footprint tracker has been developed in partnership with our data science team and leading climate modelling experts in each of our markets.

In the UK we partner with Professor Mike Berners-Lee, a leader in carbon footprinting at Small World Consulting and author of the groundbreaking book 'How Bad Are Bananas?': The Carbon Footprint of Everything.

"We are working collaboratively with the team at Cogo to continually improve the quality of the data, and see them as a global leader in transactional-based carbon footprint analysis”.

Accreditation data

Our goal is to connect people and businesses with credible sustainability data that enables them to understand their impact, and start changing for the better. We have refined our approach over the last 10 years to include over 12 different aspects of business engagement on sustainability; these cover respect for people, our planet and animals, and align with United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Cogo partners with many of the leading sustainability certification organisations across the UK, New Zealand, Australia and beyond. We specifically curate sustainability data on businesses per market, making it easier for people to find and support those businesses.

We also recognise and celebrate the sustainable practices Cogo businesses are already doing, helping navigate and simplify the process of communicating their efforts to their audience. Together, Cogo’s accredited businesses are making a huge impact on the issues that our community cares about.
