From Wellington to the world

With a mission to create positive change in our world, CoGo evolved from a small voluntary, Wellington-based charity to Conscious Consumers, one of New Zealand's most successful social enterprises.

This is our story so far…

2010

The 42collective, a registered charity, launches a voluntary cafe accreditation programme called Conscious Consumers, starting with a handful of cafes on Cuba Street, Wellington.

2011

The 42collective cafe programme is rolled out in Auckland and Hamilton.

 

2013

We launch our nationwide hospitality accreditation framework and our mobile app, and on-board hundreds of NZ businesses and consumers!

2015

After raising almost $100,000 we developed the Good Spend Counter, our world-first technology which enables businesses to track the spending of their customers and gain insight into what their customers care about.

 

2016

We began to realise that this new technology has more potential to create positive change in the world than anticipated! To help the idea take off, Conscious Consumers Ltd was established in early 2016 to raise more investment.

2017

We complete one of the biggest capital raises for a social enterprise in New Zealand - $2 million dollars - to support our move into the UK and make an even better product!

 

2018

In September, we launched under our new name (CoGo) in the UK, followed by our new consumer app in November. The roll-out of the CoGo brand and new app in NZ was completed shortly after! With a fresh new look but the same important mission, we’re stoked to be building even more innovative ways to connect businesses and consumers for the good of people and planet.

2019 and beyond
